Official Public Announcement of the Formation of the Resilient Design Coalition
We are excited to announce the launch of the Resilient Design Coalition, to advance resilient design in structural engineering, with an immediate focus on further developing building code provisions for resilient seismic design. This will support both the 2026 BSSC NEHRP Provisions and ASCE 7-28.

Technical Webinar: AISC SpeedCore Wall System – System Overview and Implementation in SP3 for Resilient Design
This webinar introduced how the SpeedCore system has now been enabled in SP3, which new component fragility functions, and a full new SP3 Structural Response Prediction Engine module for SpeedCore.

EERI 2024 Annual Meeting
The SP3 team did technical presentations and exhibited at the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute 2024 Annual Meeting (EERI 2024AM). The convention was held in Seattle, WA, from April 9, to April 12, 2024 and included a technical program with plenary, special, and poster sessions along with the 2024 Undergraduate Seismic Design Competition Shaking Day.

SEAOSC Northridge30 Symposium
The SEAOSC Northridge Earthquake Symposium – 30 Year Anniversary Event was held in Pasadena, California, on January 17th, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the 1994 magnitude 6.7 earthquake in the San Fernando Valley. SP3 CEO & Co-Founder, Curt Haselton, PhD, PE, was able to co-present with Buehler Engineering’s, Ryan Kersting, SE, on recent developments in regards to Resilient Design for Functional Recovery.

2023 NCSEA SE Summit
The NCSEA Structural Engineering Summit this year was held at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California, from November 7-10, 2023. SP3 CEO & Co-Founder, Curt Haselton, PhD, PE, was able to present on recent developments in regards to Resilient Design for Functional Recovery.

Case Studies of Resilient Design for Functional Recovery Webinar (FR Webinar #4)
Over the past few months, the SP3 Functional Recovery Webinar Series has covered new FEMA P-58 and SP3 developments to further quantify building functional recovery time after an earthquake, as well as how P-58/SP3 can be used for structural system selection and resilient design.
