SP3 Product Overview


Our primary resilient design software is the SP3-RiskModel. Several additional software modules on the SP3 Platform are also available, in order to enable and support seismic resiliency assessment for all your projects!


The SP3-RiskModel enables seismic resiliency/risk assessment for any level of building information, still being both building-specific and site-specific (via the automations in the SP3-Engine). The SP3-RiskModel is the only commercial solution that provides the industry-leading estimates of reoccupancy and functional recovery times for business interruption assessment and resilient design. License options include three levels of risk modeling capability (Express, Standard, and Advanced), which all run within the consistent FEMA P-58 analytical framework of the SP3-RiskModel.


The SP3-Portfolio brings our building-specific seismic risk assessment advances to the analysis of your building portfolio. This module marries the typical portfolio-level insurance modeling with the detailed building-specific vulnerability curves from the SP3-RiskModel.  Portfolio risk analyses historically use generic vulnerability models for classes of building, which loses any building-specific risk information. This simplification is no longer needed with SP3-PortfolioSP3-Portfolio has been built from the ground up, utilizing the best available technology, and includes the several new features to forward-predict building vulnerability for cases where we do not have adequate earthquake data. SP3 is built to use to use a consistent engineering-analysis-based risk assessment methodology, rather than being judgement/experience-based, and enables this forward-prediction through our Platform.


The SP3-Batch module harnesses the power of Amazon Web Services to run the SP3-RiskModel analyses quickly for a large inventory of buildings (with virtually no inventory size limits). Even for large numbers of buildings, building-specific and site-specific properties are utilized in the proprietary SP3-RiskModel analysis process, to provide a building-specific risk assessment even with limited portfolio-type building information (e.g. location, construction year, building type, number of stories, and occupancy).


The SP3-SiteHazards module leverages many SP3 databases of site hazard mapping, and provides a quick and convenient PDF report for the hazards at your site.  You can literally complete your site hazards portion of your risk assessment with the click of a button.  This includes databases of liquefaction maps, landslide maps, dam inundation maps, tsunami zones, fault zones, past event ShakeMaps, and seismic hazard analysis for the site.


The goal of the SP3 team is always to make your building-specific seismic risk assessment projects a success.  To this end, we often work closely with both SP3 users and end clients on building-specific seismic risk assessment projects (usually on high-value and important buildings), assisting in evaluations of large portfolios of buildings (e.g. campuses, distributed holding for a large owner, etc.), creating fragility functions for unique or new resilient building components, and really anything else needed to support the success of your project.
