Seismic risk assessment of individual buildings

Our typical model is to support our engineering clients — they lead the assessment, we support — and we lead the risk assessment when the end client specifically requests it. Support ranges from basic technical help to independent review of your analysis to an SP3 engineer embedded in your team.
Seismic risk assessment of building portfolios
Large portfolio and inventory assessments are increasingly common SP3 projects, supported by SP3-Batch. Because these projects get complex, the SP3 Team often consults on data input and output, on using SP3-Batch to automate analysis for hundreds to thousands of buildings (and sometimes far more), and on the aggregated portfolio-level risk assessment.
The value SP3 brings: building-specific vulnerability curves — automated even from basic building information through SP3-Batch — plus both direct financial losses and detailed building downtimes, such as time to repair to regain occupancy and function.
Fragility function creation
As resilient design becomes more common, product manufacturers are providing more resilient structural and non-structural components. The SP3 Team regularly works with manufacturers to evaluate their performance data and prepare their components for use within the FEMA P-58 and SP3 risk assessment processes.
