EERI 2024 Annual Meeting
The SP3 team did technical presentations and exhibited at the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute 2024 Annual Meeting (EERI 2024AM). The convention was held in Seattle, WA, from April 9, to April 12, 2024 and included a technical program with plenary, special, and poster sessions along with the 2024 Undergraduate Seismic Design Competition Shaking Day. Pre- and post-meeting activities included a reconnaissance workshop and partner-hosted workshops in addition to a Seattle Fault scenario reconnaissance field exercise at the conclusion of the convention.
Recovery-based Analysis Frameworks to Support the Development of Design Provisions: Overview of ATC-138
While several SP3 team members were directly involved in the conference, SP3 Co-Founder and CEO, Dr. Curt Haselton, presented on the new and ongoing developments of SP3 as relates to functional recovery and how leaders in the Structural Engineering community can work together to improve resilient design requirements. Curt’s presentation covers continuing development and improvements in analytical tools used to estimate reoccupancy and functional recovery times and examples of how industry leaders can bring design for functional recovery into the state of practice using the ATC-138 methodology implemented in SP3-RiskModel.
