Case Studies of Resilient Design for Functional Recovery Webinar (FR Webinar #4)
The SP3 Team is kicked off a new webinar series, March 8th, focused on Resilient Design for Functional Recovery. The goal of this webinar series is to keep you updated on the many recent developments in this resilient design arena, and to provide you with the tools, background, and training necessary to implement resilient design for functional recovery in your structural engineering practice.
Fourth Webinar: Practitioner Case Studies of Resilient Design for Functional Recovery using FEMA P-58 and SP3
Presented by David Mar, SE, Founder & Partner, Mar Structural Design & Reid Zimmerman, PE, SE, Technical Director, KPFF Consulting Engineers (Portland)
Over the past few months, the SP3 Functional Recovery Webinar Series has covered new FEMA P-58 and SP3 developments to further quantify building functional recovery time after an earthquake, as well as how P-58/SP3 can be used for structural system selection and resilient design. Today’s webinar will host two leading structural engineers who will discuss several recent resilient design projects they have done in their practices. Invited speakers, David Mar, SE (Mar Structural Design) and Reid Zimmerman, PE, SE (KPFF Consulting Engineers (Portland)) will describe how resilient design for Functional Recovery is not a future idea, and is already being integrated into their structural engineering practices. They will discuss several sample projects, showing how they delivered quickly-functional buildings to their clients, and illustrating how you can leverage resilient design in your practice.
