Resilient Design for Functional Recovery: Recent Traction in the S.E. Profession, New Technical Developments, and Proposed Next Steps
Ed Almeter (SP3) presented on Resilient Design for Functional Recovery at the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC) 90th Anniversary Convention. This included recovery time assessment method updates as part of the ATC-138, recent projects examples, and a call to action. The call proposes that leaders in seismic engineering pursue a coordinated effort to create prescriptive design requirements for resilient design for quick post-earthquake recovery of building function.
