SP3 Webinar on “Quantifying Building Functional Recovery Time – New Developments and Ongoing Work”, presented by Dustin Cook

This webinar covered the current advancements to the FEMA P-58 method in quantifying post-earthquake building functional recovery (building closure time). Dustin Cook, from the University of Colorado Boulder, introduced a novel method for quantifying building-specific functional recovery using the FEMA P-58 framework, which includes time to reoccupancy, time to basic function, and time to full repair, all based on the FEMA P-58 process that provides component-level granularity for what aspects of structural and non-structural building damage impedes function.

Dustin also outlines the next steps for vetting the method with ATC and FEMA and implementing it into SP3 in the near-future.  This presentation is available here.
